The Mountain Trekkers
About Us
A little somthing about those who have made these trips to the Adirondacks.

The Core Members

Andrew Garlach
Without Andrew, none of us would be hiking the Adirondacks.  He climbed his first peak, Scarface, in 1999 with friends from Binghamton University and was hooked.  In 2002 he led the first trip with a return to Scarface, and two years later he set the goal of hiking all 46 High Peaks.

Andrea Garvey
One of the three newcomers in 2005, Andrea shares her fiancee Andrew's passion for hiking.  Even though she sprained her ankle on Blueberry Mountain, she is ready and willing for more hiking trips.

Benjamin Goodrich
Conversley enthusiastic and reluctant, Benjamin has joined Anrew on each of the hiking trips.  He shares Andrew's goal of hiking all 46 High Peaks, and especially after hikes up Giant in 2004, and Blueberry in 2005, he is more resolved than ever to reach that goal.

MaryAnn Robak (nee Clune)
MaryAnn joined us on each hiking trip from 2002 to 2005, and even though she is one high peak behind Andrew and Benjamin, she is a determined hiker who faces the mountain head on and climbs it.

Ken Sosenko
Ken became our "official" photographer thanks to the wonderful images he took on his first trip in 2005.  HIs photos of Mt. Jo and Blueberry Mountain are available on this site.

One Timers

Carol Clune
Carol only came along on the first trip to Scarface, but it is due to a lack of time that she has not made a return trip to the Adirondacks.

Mike Robak
Husband of MaryAnn, he joined us on the 2005 trip, and it was he that suggested getting help from the rangers when Andrea sprained her ankle near the summit of Blueberry Mountain.  Due to MaryAnn and him moving to the West Coast, 2005 may be their last trip for a while.
